British Military Facilities to Accommodate Refugee Applicants in Effort to Terminate Hotel Accommodation

Military housing site

Numerous refugee applicants might be accommodated in armed forces facilities as the government works to terminate the utilization of hotel accommodations.

Talks are underway regarding the conversion of two facilities - one in northern Britain and the other in the south of England - for housing for 900 men.

The government leader has ordered Domestic Affairs and Defense Department officials to accelerate initiatives to identify proper military sites.

The government has committed to end the operation of temporary hotel accommodations, which have cost billions of pounds and turned into a central issue for anti-migrant protests.

Under Consideration Military Locations

Asylum seekers might be placed in the Inverness barracks in Highland region and East Sussex training site in southeastern England by the end of next month.

Commercial facilities, temporary accommodation and previously unused facilities are also being reviewed for future accommodation.

Authorities Statements

Government sources confirmed that all sites would comply with health and safety standards.

"Our administration is extremely concerned at the level of illegal migrants and refugee lodging facilities."

"This government will terminate each temporary accommodation facility. Efforts are progressing effectively, with additional appropriate locations being proposed to reduce burden for local areas and decrease migrant housing expenditures."

Current Housing Statistics

Nearly 32 thousand refugee applicants are at this time being housed in hotels, representing a drop from a maximum of over 56 thousand in the previous year.

A current assessment found that multiple billions of government revenue had been "misused" on asylum accommodation.

Earlier Defense Site Usage

Two former military sites - the Wethersfield facility in the eastern county and Napier Barracks in the southern county - are already being utilized to house refugee applicants after being commissioned under the former leadership.

The government leader commented on the situation, saying: "The government is resolved to close all asylum hotels. I can't tell you how troubled and alarmed we are that we face a situation as big as this by the last government."
